Fawn season

Building a startup is like watching a newborn fawn—fragile, constantly threatened, but some still make it through.

It’s fawn season around my house.
Awww. So cute.

Reminds me of doing startups. Especially mine.
“Oh that’s so cool,” people say.
Another way of saying, “Awww. So cute.”

But damn if death doesn’t come for it every night.

Coyotes. Fences. Dogs. Cars.
Incumbents. Burn rates. Missteps. Market apathy.

Some nights, it feels like survival is impossible. Death is certain.

And yet—There are bucks and mommas walking around.

Plenty make it through.
