Client portals often fall into two categories: highly effective or utterly frustrating for both clients and teams—most being the latter. File sharing between different cloud providers was messy, inconsistent, and error-prone. The Firm Studio team needed a way to connect with clients, vendors, and contractors regardless of which cloud service they used.

We set out to design a “non-portal” portal — a lightweight layer that connects existing storage systems instead of replacing them.
